before it may have been great and cheap to hack a ton of stuff together to save money.... it would be easier and overall better to spend $200 on a tascam dr-60d mkII http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1084690-REG/tascam_dr_60mkii_portable_recorder_for_dslr.html or lss if you can find the previous Dr-60d.
