My film rig design is very similar to yours, Though I made some pretty major mods not noticeable at first glance, Here's a few pics but the greatest detail will be noticed by checking out my instructable.

It looks good, but I'm not sure I like the permanent mic.
It looks good, but I'm not sure about building in a mic. I like the idea of being able to use different mica for different situations.
