Affordable Lighting Options for DSLR Filming

This is the first embedded episode of the soon-to-be-named DSLR Film Noob, a YouTube show that has a lot in common with The Frugal Filmmaker. Show creator Deejay will appear regularly to give us advice on shooting with a DSLR camera. His show should fit in well with the content here, which tends to be more video camera oriented and less DSLR.

This time out, Deejay fills us in about some low-cost lighting options we can all use.

Hi Scott, what do you mean his show will be more video camera oriented and less DSLR oriented. Isn't it called DSLR for Noob? Either way, I like the content.
Thanks for all your hard work

Actually, I said the reverse. My stuff tends to be more video camera oriented (that's what I own and use), while he (Deejay) focuses on his DSLR experience.

Sorry about that. I must have misread it.

Clamp lights are great but with a blub that size in relation to the depth of the scoop, you'd have to build some kind of arm to add diffusion. Just spend a couple more dollars for a larger scoop fixture that will better house the bulb and to which you can fix C47s without the need for an additional piece.
